KOM Racecourse Traditional Cache

I found this location
whilst searching for the cemetery! I knew K-O-M had an old
race course, but never actually knew where it was until
now!
At one stage the local
Council planned to use the old race course site as part of a
Septic Tank Effluent Disposal Scheme but this caused a lot of
conflict in the town. 
Whilst it is over 40 years since any racing activity has taken
place here, it is considered to be of historical value and
considerable efforts have gone into revegetating the area. It is
also a popular site for local walkers.
In 1994 an application was made to build a hotel on the site, but
this was also rejected.
All of this means it is available to us to visit! Why not drive
(or jog) around the course and give us a track report. Is the
course heavy today or hard underfoot?
