Cache is a two litre plastic screw top container holding log, pen, and heaps of swaps.
Beaver Rock is situated near the mouth of the mighty Mary River. Access to the cache site is gained through Granville but can also be accessed by boat, be mindful of the boat ramp as it can be very slippery. Also be mindful of the current road works happening due to the widening of this school bus route which meanders through some very pretty cane farms and cattle properties. This is a popular boat ramp with other muggle fishermen frequenting the area. There are no facilities nearby. Bring lots of sandfly and mozzie repellant, or they will carry you away. At the boat ramp can be seen what appears to be the remains of a very large boat launching ramp, due to the history of Maryborough and its shipwrights this is most probable. I could not find any history on Beaver Rock, so if anyone knows of any, email me and I'll include it in the description. Update 1/4/2008: I have been told that a Car Barge used to operate from Beaver Rock transporting cars to Fraser Island before the barge began operations at River Heads. When the Kingfisher Bay Resort was being built on Fraser Island much of the building materials came from Walkers in Maryborough and was transported across to the Island from Beaver Rock. Update as of 01-06-2012 -- Cachers please be careful if you enter the water at this site as there have been reports of a large saltwater crocodile in this water way last month. There is no need to enter the water to find the cache.
