A small cache at a ruin above lead mine clough
This cache is Among the ruin of "Abbots" I placed this on the way up to Vido's "Simms" cache - I've been meaning to hide this for a while and when Simms got placed I figured I'd better hurry....
I assume this was a farm - it appears on the Mario historic maps just as "Abbots" but judging by the spoil heaps around; it could equally have had something to do with the mining that went on here. There are great views towards Wales across the west Lancs plain from here - I placed this on a beautifully clear day with snow on the ground (Easter Sunday!!)Limited parking may be available near Alance bridge
There are several other great caches in the area - do them all and you will see all corners of this lovely area - you could make a day of it!!
