Toon Park Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

shampogs: Area where cache was located was within a bush encrusted area which had a stump within. Bushes and rhoddies are now cut down and mostly removed and, as a result, box is now gone. To that end, cache being disabled.

Thanks for your efforts though, Novicejocks and others. I have simply lost my caching mojo, for various reasons, and see no chance of that changing anytime soon.

hey ho....

Geocache Description:

My first 'proper' multi so please bear with me!

Short walk around the Town Park in Glenrothes looking at three of the numerous artworks presented to and on display within the town. Should take no more than roughly 20 minutes to complete. Coords given are for the carpark nearto the duck pond.

There is a young arborateum at N56 12.206 W003 11.247 which, in a few years, will no doubt mature to look very good. The various trees round it were planted by schoolchildren as part of the Milleneum celebrations whilst others were to commemorate the ongoing twinning of Glenrothes with the town of Boblingen in Germany.

Starting at the stainless steel artwork showing outlines of trees, there are A gaps in the straight sides to the metal artwork. B equals the number of stone sets within the very centre of the circle and there are 1C stones in the 3rd circle around B.

Now move to N56 12.155 W003 11.167 where you will find another artwork entitled 'The Good Samaritan'. This sculpture is by Ronald Rae and was commissioned by the then Glenrothes Development Corporation to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the New Town. Rae based his sculpture on the King's Cross tube disaster after seeing the fireman carry the victims to safety, and depicts the similar community spirit of the town. The sculpture was unveiled by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1988. Examine the statue closely..... There are D eyes, E ears, F noses and G hands on show.

Lastly, move on to N56 12.112 W003 11.129 where you will find the statue called 'The Defenceless One' which was presented to the town of Glenrothes by its twin town of Boblingen in H 1991.

The cache is located at: N56 1E.(G-D)HB, W003 1(C-H).(A-D)F(E+H)
