Geocache Description:

The trail starts at the picnic area at Belcarra Regional Park and is about 6 km return. Much of the way along the trail is either up or downhill, with a series of wooden staircases for assistance in the steepest sections. It is a beautiful walk through a Westcoast Rain Forest. You could also approach the beach by boat.

Jug Island Beach is one of the niceset on Indian Arm. From the beach you can see Jug Island. At one time Jug Island had stone formations that resembled a jug handle, hence the name "Jug" Island. This arch fell off some time ago. You will probably also see Canadian Geese which nest in the island as well as herons, eagles and seagulls.

Just before you reach the beach, you will see a small trail to the east that leads to the cache. There is a piece of small orange flagging tape near the cache site as the GPSr will probably be jumpy under the trees.

Please make sure you leave enough time to get back to your car before the park closes.
