Lakeview picnic area-North Shore Moraine SP
We're ready to celebrate! Our BACON boards started on Apr 3, 2007 as a combination of Butler Area Cachers and Of Note. Since then we've grown from 2 members to 46. We decided to wait a month to have our 1 year celebration picnic so it'd be a little warmer. Since we became a group-several members have hit 1K. We're going to celebrate their accomplishments as well.
We're going to do all this celebrating on May 3rd from 11am to 5pm at Lakeview picnic area/disc golf course on the north shore of Moraine State Park. The coords. will take you to a grove of picnic tables that we wish to use for the day. We're going to have a disc golf scramble and other games. If you have your own discs-pls bring them with your name marked on them. Otherwise I'll have frisbees, which aren't the same but close enough and you'll still have fun!
Those that wish to participate in the scramble, we'll form groups of 4 or so and play 9 holes of disc golf with each basket named after a 1K BACON cacher. We will also play a disc golf game called around the 9's. There will be prizes and possibly a temp cache challenge. Geodogs are welcome (they must follow the dog laws-leashed, pick up after them, etc). There will be a geodog frisbee challenge hosted by Zoie the geopup.
For food-we're doing potluck so what y'all bring is what we'll eat! We plan to eat around noon. There's a grill at this grove of tables so we'll be grilling some hot dogs and burgers. (5/1/08 EDIT-with threat of some rain-changing to ham bbq or something like that) Games to start around 1-1:30ish. There's lots of time for meet and greet as well. Bring some great caching stories!
