Petrified Summit is a gap in Mineral County, Nevada on Hwy 361 between the townships of Gabbs and Luning. It has an elevation of 6,130 feet. Once your there, it is an easy park and walk to the hide.
It has been a while since we have placed any new caches. With Spring fever biting hard we took of for an all day tour of central Nevada. What better time to resume hiding Geocaches! When placed the cache (A Standard Issue 50 Cal Olive Drab Ammo Can) contained a log book, several pens, a tri-color highlighter, a Golf Ball, and a string of Mardi-Gra Beads. While your there, Take a moment to hold your breath, feel the silence, and Enjoy the view... Amazing! An awesome place to unwind and have a bit of lunch before resuming your journey... This is rural Nevada at its finest! Enjoy!
