This cache is located on the rails to trails along the shore of Oakland Lake just outside of Mahone Bay.
I accessed the trail from the #3 highway and parked at 44°27.632N 064°22.278W, but there may be other access
points. Please exercise caution when hiking on any steep embankments and along the shore.
The Town of Mahone Bay located on Nova Scotia's south shore has been using Oakland Lake as water supply for many generations without difficulties. The Town is now completing a source water protection plan, and in the process of registering the source with the province to protect it, so lets keep it green and clean. The cache is a camo 2kg peanut butter jar.
