Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in one of my favorite places for nature observation, the Ann Lee Pond Preserve. Spring has finally arrived! And with it the first red-winged blackbirds of the year.

Marshes are among the best places to observe these birds, so I find that I’ve become a marsh rat, spending vast amounts of time in areas like this, just to watch and listen to these fascinating birds. For me, the sound of the first red-winged blackbird call of the year has always signaled spring’s arrival much more so than the sight of the first robin.

Some of the other birds to be found here are Canada geese, a variety of ducks, great blue herons, pileated woodpeckers, hawks, owls, various songbirds and a host of others. A visit here is never the same twice. It’s a nature observer’s paradise.

It’s an easy walk along level trails. Cache is a 35 mm film canister and contains a logbook only – no room for a pencil, so bring your own please.

There are several other caches in the area you can do while here, including one of my all-time favorites – Eeney, Meeney, Miney, Mo

Please rehide the container so it is NOT SEEN !!
