Geocache Description:

Situated at the south entrance to the Te Waihou walkway.

The Waihou stream is fed by springs filtered by up to a century of seeping through the rock of the Mamaku ranges. The Blue Spring, where this cache is located, is a source of the stream and delivers crystal blue water at a rate of 42 cubic metres per minute.

Cache consists of a small Sistema box with notebook and pencil. When first placed, contained a soft lion toy, frog maraca, and a couple of scented highlighter pens. Note that ground around cache may be mushy after heavy rain.

Cache is so named as it was placed on the occasion of the first birthday of the littlest member of Team Fat Fish.
