Mother Tree Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note: Geocaches that are archived due to lack of maintenance/communication will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

"Bob Jones" City to the Sea Trail
Difficulty lowered to 1.5 so those without Premium accounts can participate!!

The cache sits just off the "Bob Jones" City to the Sea Trail. This is a beautiful paved trail about 2 miles long that runs from Droos's "Brothers" cache on Ontario Rd. through Luis Obispo Bay Estates, across the Golf course, along the San Luis Obispo Creek to Avila Beach.

The cache is located by a tree that we were told (by a local passer by), was "well known" and "called the Mother Tree". I think you will get the idea when you see the tree. We were also told you could tell this was a "female" tree because all the many branches. Very interesting how the tree has grown into the surrounding rocks.

While on this bike ride we also found a "Book Crossing" book and a "Letter Box" cache. I wish Northern Santa Barbara County had places like this.
