Geocache Description:

Cache container is large and one of a kind. Its actually why I chose the name for this cache. Trees may make your GPS jump a bit, but, the cache is there. Park ONLY open from dawn to dusk!

Long Arm Dam was constructed in 1964. It has a capacity of 1,659,400,000 gallons. This dam helps suppy the needed supply for 2 water tanks containing 750,000 gallons of finished water, 175 miles of water mains ranging in size from 4" to 20" in diameter, 14,120 service connections and 833 firehydrants. Consumers in Hanover Borough, Penn Township, McSherrystown Borough and Conewago Twp, use a combined total of approximately 5,000,000 gallons per day!! WOW!

This is a fun place to fish, kayak,  picnic , hike , bring your dog for a walk or even nature watch. Located at the south end of the lake, opposite end of the dam location, is also an eagle perch. If you have good timing, you may even see one perched here, checking out the area.

As always, please place cache container back in as good as or better position than when you found it to keep the fun going for many cachers after you. Try to place it back in the exact spot to keep the position the same for others trying to lacate the well camo`d container. Depends on the time of year there should`nt be too many muggles around, however, during the summer this area can become quite busy.

Thanks for taking time to check out our cache.
