Lake Casitas Recreation Area has something for everyone! You can camp, hike, bike, and swim at the water park (not in the lake). Currently no boats are able to come into the area due to the Quagga Mussels that have become a big problem; hopefully it won’t last much longer. While camping here, we noticed that there were only 3 caches! There’s so much room for more!!!
Welcome to our series of Lake Casitas caches. Some are easy; some not so much…Enjoy your time caching and have fun in the park.
Park hours for day-use is from sunrise to sundown. Walking or biking in is free. Otherwise, there is a day use fee that ranges from $8-$10 per vehicle. This series and any more to come has been approved and encouraged by the park manager Brian Roney.
You are looking for a 30mm Ammo can. There's lots of cover in the area so use your geosense. Parking is available very near by and some fishing trails get you to the area in a few feet. Enjoy watching the Turkey Buzzards fly over as you are searching!
