I really like ammo can hides. Mostly because they can hold lots of
goodies. And they're easy to find.
So I asked myself, "Self, for your first geocache hide, you want
to use an ammo can AND put it in urban surroundings?"
Yes I do.
So, I set off on my shiny, red, new-to-me, used pawn shop
bicycle. Pedaled myself down to my local park where I had surveyed
locations for my first hide. After locating a patch of turf that
was far enough away from other cacher's hides, AND as far away from
any parking as I could be (I'm doing my part to make sure cachers
get plenty of exercise), I dumped the payload.
For the lucky first to finder, which will probably be bennet, I
have a geocaching.com iron on patch! That's a $3 value folks!
Other contents include: My first travelbug called Souvenir
Suitcase, a couple other bugs, a Post Office calculator, and some
other random stuff I found at the house.
As of 04/16/08 the area around ground zero has been mowed. Not sure
if it makes it harder or easier to find, but it is still
there.
