Geocache Description:

Southwest Colorado Springs, Colorado

Southwest Colorado Springs, Colorado | Cache is a painted 1-pint Ziplock Twist 'n Lock container. Contents at time of emplacement consisted of a laminated stash note, small notebook, small mechanical pencil & toy car.

Look in the gallery to see some suggested parking locations.

Safety Caveat | From furthest to nearest the safest and most convenient parking area to access this cache is the 7-Eleven (NE corner of E Fountain Blvd & Union Blvd | 38°49'02.95"N 104°47'30.85"W), the two turn-offs on Union Blvd (38°48'57.49"N 104°47'30.94"W & 38°48'53.61"N 104°47'30.11"W), and the turn-off (38°48'51.87"N 104°47'18.78"W) on the Westbound MLK Jr Bypass (Hwy-24) Union Blvd exit.

Parking locations:
38°49'02.95"N 104°47'30.85"W 7-Eleven
38°48'57.49"N 104°47'30.94"W Turn-Off
38°48'53.61"N 104°47'30.11"W Turn-Off
38°48'51.87"N 104°47'18.78"W Turn-Off

Parking in any of these spots will allow you to not cross any roadway during the pursuit of this cache. Approaching from the 7-Eleven or the two turn-offs on Union Blvd you'll need to either skirt around the East-West running chainlink fence near Union Blvd or find the break in the fence near the turn-off off of MLK Jr Bypass. Both ways are very simple. From the turn-off off of MLK Jr Bypass follow the foot path under both on-ramp & off-ramp bridges. I'll let you do the rest. Don't be overwhelmed by all the instructions getting to the area. I just wanted to make it abundantly clear that there isn't a need to play "Frogger" getting across the highway when there is a perfectly safe footpath to walk along. Don't forget to grab Zoey5966's cache (Heavenly Angel | GC12VXE) since it's only located 300-yds away!

FTF congrats to hartsdale! (March 28, 2008)
