Geocache Description:

Small cache in a remote spot in East Cheshire

There is parking by the top lock and you can take a pleasant walk down the locks, of about a mile to this cache. Bosley locks are one of our favourite flights that we have worked. They are effectively the only locks on the 27 miles of the Macclesfield canal, theses splendid constructions are deep, raising the canal level by 118ft. They are a good example of Telford's practice of grouping locks together in flights, here there are 12 in 1 mile. The aqueduct carries the Macclesfield canal over the River Dane. The cache is placed off a small path that leads down from the canal to the river and means you can view this magnificent structure that you have walked over.
