Micro at a side road on the way up De Beers pass
Take the road to the Green Lantern Motel in Van Reenens Pass. Follow this road through following the signs to De Beers Pass. Take note that this is not a road for anything but a 4x4, high clearence Vehicle or a Corsa Lite 4x4 (How aikona lo 4x4, ipi lo eCorsa Lite).
No seriously the road is bad with lots of loose rocks and such. When you get close to De Beers Pass the road becomes a tar road. Start going down the pass and if possible stop and take some photo's. The view is awesome.
There is a small waterfall just below the bridge over the river you go over. The road you are parked on is to a bush camp called M'sonti. I tried to drive to it but the sun was setting quick and I wasn't sure how much dirt road I had left to travel. I will try get more info from the camp and add it here. Seems like they have 4x4 trails and hikes plus self catering chalets.
There is another route from the Ladysmith side. Take the Besters turnoff about 20km out of Ladysmith on the way to Van Reeneen and follow the roadsigns from there.
The road was tarred just recently to facilitate the Ingula Hydro-Electric dam not far from here. Unlike the Drakensberg pumped storage you will not be able to enter the facility without authorisation. Security is tight and you will see them on the road to the pass.
