Park at N49 03.751 W117 36.442 This is a very well maintained dog walk with one short steep hill and an easy path down towards the river. It used to be an off leash area but not since it became part of a Provincial Park.
This is a Book Swap cache. The cache is a large ammo box that is well hidden approx. 850m from the parking spot. The original contents include an eclectic mix of 7 books, 1 travel bug, 1 Signal antenna ball and the FTF prize.
Please bring a pocket book to swap or just help yourself to one that's there. After finding the cache take a short walk to the river for a picnic or some fishing in this beautiful spot. Be alert as the Columbia River changes levels and currents rapidly and without much warning.
Dog Walk, Book Swap received such good reviews for the location that we decided to add a couple more caches and create the Dog Walk Loop. This is about a 5 km. walk from the parking area down past the Book Swap Cache, along the river and back by the perimeter trail of the Trail Airport. The Pump House Cache is at the outermost point of the loop and the Dog Walk Summit Cache completes the loop on the Airport Perimeter Trail
