A Traditional Cache Near Yaniklar / Fethiye (Turkey)

English Description:
The coast of Lykia is famous for its large amount of beautiful bays and shores. Steepcoasts, waterfalls, lonesome sandy beaches, caves and ancient ruins inviting you to stay for a while. The Lykian coast offers you a many-faceted landscape to explore. With the overwhelming Taurus Mountains in the backcountry and the lushly growing vegetation ever present it is a pleasure to indulge the senses. We have chosen this particular place, because we always spend our holidays in the nearby hotel "Majesty Tuana".
How to access the cachelocation -Option 1-:
If you are lucky you stay at the nearby hotel "Majesty Tuana" to the south-east of the cache. You start at the hotel-beach and walk in direction north-west. Then you have to cross a small stream, which runs here into the mediterranean sea. Sometimes the hotel-management installs a little wooden bridge. But the bridge isn't always there, so maybe you have to walk through the shallow brook. After that you can stroll relaxed along the beach to the small hill in the north-west until the beach ends. Now you have to ascend the hill. It's not very difficult, because there is a small path. Follow your GPS-receiver and have a look at the spoiler-pics to find the cache-box. We strongly recommend to use the pics!
How to access the cachelocation -Option 2-:
If you don't stay at the hotel, you have to leave the mainroad "D 400" at N 36° 42.402 E 029° 02.861 and follow the asphalt road to the right (west) of the stream. You drive along some farmers houses and lemon trees in a nice valley. Remember to stay on the asphalt road, until it finally changes to a sandy road at N 36° 41.620 E 029° 02.458. But you can drive further on. At N 36° 41.818 E 029° 02.170 you can park your car and access the beach. You have to ascend the hill. It's not very difficult, because there is a small path. Follow your GPS-receiver and look at the spoiler-pics to find the cache-box. We strongly recommend to use the pics!
Since june, 4th 2011 the cachecontainer is only a normal PET-container (preform of a plastic bottle), containing 3 logpapers, but no pen. So please bring your own pen for logging the cache.
After finding the cache don't forget to proceed to the most southern spot of the hill, to enjoy an impressive view over the coastline and the mediterranean sea!

Die Lykische Küste ist berühmt für ihre große Anzahl an wunderschönen Buchten und Küstenstreifen. Steilküsten, Wasserfälle, einsame Sandstrände, Höhlen und Ruinen der Antike laden zum Verweilen ein. Sie bietet dem Besucher ein vielfältiges Landschaftsbild. Mit ihrer üppigen Pflanzenwelt und dem mächtigen, stets sichtbaren Taurusgebirge im Hinterland ist sie ein Genuss für alle Sinne. Wir haben diese Cachelocation gewählt, da wir unseren Urlaub sehr oft im nahe gelegenen Hotel "Majesty Tuana" verbringen.
Der Zugang zur Cachelocation -Variante 1-:
Wenn Du Glück hast und im Hotel "Majesty Tuana" verweilst, dann musst Du lediglich den Strand in nord-westlicher Richtung entlanggehen. Zuvor musst Du einen kleinen Bach, der hier ins Mittelmeer fließt, überqueren. Manchmal wird vom Hotel eine kleine Holzbrücke über den Bach bereit gestellt. Aber die Brücke ist nicht immer da, so dass Du eventuell durch das flache Bächlein waten musst. Danach kannst Du entspannt am Strand entlang schlendern, bis Du zu der Stelle kommst, an welcher der Strand aufhört. Hier musst Du den Hügel hinaufsteigen. Dies ist nicht sonderlich schwierig, da es hier einen kleinen Pfad gibt. Folge nun Deinem GPS-Empfänger und benutze die Spoiler-Bilder um die Cache-Box zu finden. Wir empfehlen dringend die Spoiler-Bilder zu benutzen!

Wenn Du nicht in besagtem Hotel wohnst, dann verlasse die Hauptstrasse "D 400" bei N 36° 42.402 E 029° 02.861 und folge der asphaltierten Strasse rechts (westlich) vom kleinen Fluss. Die Straße führt Dich entlang eines kleinen Tals mit Bauernhäusern und Zitronenplantagen. Bleibe stets auf der asphaltierten Straße, bis diese bei N 36° 41.620 E 029° 02.458 schließlich in einen Sandweg übergeht. Du kannst aber weiterfahren und Dein Auto bei N 36° 41.818 E 029° 02.170 abstellen. Hier gelangst Du auch zum Strand. Steige den Hügel hinauf. Dies ist nicht sonderlich schwierig, da es hier einen kleinen Pfad gibt. Folge nun Deinem GPS-Empfänger und benutze die Spoiler-Bilder um die Cache-Box zu finden. Wir empfehlen dringend die Spoiler-Bilder zu benutzen!
Der Cachebehälter ist ab dem 04.06.2011 nur noch ein normaler PET-ling und enthält 3 Logstreifen, aber leider keinen Kugelschreiber. Bitte bring deshalb Deinen eigenen Stift mit, um den Cache loggen zu können.
Nach dem Auffinden des Caches begib Dich auch zum südlichsten Zipfel des Hügels. Dort kannst Du einen beeindruckenden Weitblick über die Küste und das Mittelmeer genießen.

A small note on cache-maintenance: We visit this part of Turkey twice a year, so we are able to maintain the cache. Additionally the Geocachers "Global_Boy", "Miguelhamburg" and "chatcar", who also spend their holidays multiple times a year at Yaniklar/Fethiye, will help us to take care of the cache.
