Geocache Description:

After finding more than 30 caches over the last few months, we decided it was time to hide one! This cache is located at Cedar Point Environmental Park and should be fairly easy to find. Please note that pets are prohibited in the park.

Enjoy a picnic at the little playground that's hidden away at Cedar Point Environmental Park. The Park is located across from Lemon Bay High School, at 2300 Placida Road.

This is a family-friendly cache with the usual trinkets. No bushwacking required for those with long arms.

While in the park, be sure to take a moment to look at the "Cookie House." Formerly the personal lab of John Bass, Jr., the “Cookie House” log cabin was built on the old Bass laboratory site in Englewood in the 1930s. Taking its name from its unusual architectural design and log stovewood construction, it was built with disks cut from lighter-knot pine logs, stacked on edge in cement mortar mixed with beach sand, resulting in the appearance of a white plate full of brown cookies. The small structure is the only known house of this type in Florida. The "Cookie House" was moved to this location because where it originally stood is being developed into a new subdivision.
