Local bush walk near Oxford, North Canterbury.
This stand of native bush is one of the few near the Oxford Township and was turned into a Queen Elizabeth 2 Convenant so it will not be destroyed like many other bush areas.
The track has been clearly defined though quite narrow in places, and native plants identified. It is looked after by a local group.
There is a picnic table where one can sit and enjoy the birdsong, which is almost deafening! There is a lot of honeydew being produced here so be wary of the bees. There are no bees near the cache site. There is a memorial bench seat overlooking the countryside where you may rest and write up the log. The cache site is near a farm property. You do not need to go over the fence. After completing your log, feel free to wander the tracks and enjoy this lovely example of native forest.
The road is gravel and clearly marked from Oxford, with parking available at the start of the track.
Cache container is a 600ml hex jar painted green and black with Geo on the side and top. Log and swaps included.
