Geocache Description:

This cache is located just off the historical Crook Farm Trail. The difficulty lies in the bit of brush surrounding the cache. Please use care when retrieving this cache as we don't want this cache to be muggled.

This cache is just off the Crook Farm Trail near the Historic Crook Farm. While walking this trail, you will pass by the farm and see the Farm House, School House No. 8 and the Bank Building.

The Farm House was constructed in 1847. It is unsure if it was built by Mr. Crook himself, who purchased the then 80-acre farm after moving here from New Hampshire with his wife Betsy. It remained in the Crook family for nearly 125 years. Mr. Crook had difficulty paying off the house. He leased out the Olmstead well which was drilled on farm property and by 1875, he was able to pay off the house as well as make repairs.

The School House was moved to this area from it's original location. It was built in 1850 or 1889; the date is uncertain.

The Bank Building was constructed on site. It was replicated to that of the time period.

The Bradford Landmark Society purchased the farm in 1974. The house, probably the oldest dwelling in the Bradford area, was accepted on the Pennsylvania Register that year, and on the National Register of Historic Places the following year. It has been restored and furnished in the period of the 1870s.

While visiting this cache, please be sure to check out the others on this trail or just take a leisurely stroll. Have fun and enjoy!
