Hermon Drive-In Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

EMSDanel: The old car that hid this geocache was hauled away and the area needs CITO. I'm archiving this one to make way for sox4life to place several others in this area.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a snowmobile/hiking trail that gets regular use pretty much year round. Fairly level terrain with great snowshoeing in the winter and easy walking in the summer. Pretty stretch of woods.

You can start in several locations for this one but I chose to enter at the trail head close to Hermon Mountain Ski Area. Coords would be N44.47.090 and W068.57.154, you will see a small sign that says the trail is maintained by the Penobscot Snowmobile Club. Remember the days when you had your favorite spot to drive to with your sweetheart? Where you could look up at the stars, get all romantic, and whisper in his/her ear "Want to play some cribbage?" Well, this is one of those spots. This is such a pretty trail and the smell of pine trees and leaves in the fall will make you want to come back and bring other cachers. It's about a 10 minute walk in from the coords I listed.

You are looking for a decon container hidden in an obvious location. I had two GPS units with me that kept reading different coords but they were close so I believe this will be a fairly easy but interesting find. The decon container has room for coins to swap out. Please be careful removing the cache and rehide equally as well. Also, be careful if you have small children with you and don't let them crawl around and get injured.
