In fact, here’s a little about that property owner: Padre Tortilla has ministered to people for most of his life. Now he’s retired, but hasn’t slowed down a bit. In particular, Padre Tortilla has adopted (that is, been adopted by) a community in Rancho Santa Fe, Honduras, which he loves to visit and where he works and plays hard. (For more information, visit www.friendsoftheorphans.org.) He got his nickname when he “graduated” to helping turn tortillas in the tortilla house.
Padre Tortilla has another Molalla connection! He likes to tell this anecdote: "I was born in Molalla in my grandfather's bed, and my grandfather delivered me...thank God my grandfather was the town doctor!"
In Honduras, many children have benefited from Padre Tortilla’s support and friendship. Here in Oregon, his spirit reaches out daily to a vast circle of friends and acquaintances. There is at least one local church youth group that thinks of him often. He’s a great friend and blessing – if you see him, wave to him!
Congratulations to t-tribe and Rycala for joint FTF!
...and congratulations to h8surfing for FtTttP (First to Talk to the Padre)!
