Up The River Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions

A kayak or a canoe is required for this one. It’s about a half mile trip up the Quinebaug River, which can be a fairly easy or rather challenging depending on how high the water level is.
The cache is simply a waterproof matchstick container with only a log, BYOP. The cache is located right near the river and shouldn’t be too difficult to find, as long as you can get to it that is. There’s a few places to land your boat. Some are easier then others, but remember the farther away you land the farther you’re going to have to bushwhack. This area can get very overgrown in the summer.
I’m not expecting a lot of finds on this one, but it’s a pretty nice area with a lot of wild life to enjoy. Some parts of the river are a little littered with debris, but for the most part it’s a great area. If you enjoy fishing, bring a pole you’ll have plenty of luck in this river.

You can unload your equipment on the other side of the road, but park your car in the actual parking area. The fire department uses the river as a water source so do not block their access.
This is our first hide, hope you enjoy!
