The A30 is the backbone of Cornwall. Over the years, road
'improvement' schemes have altered its course, bypassing
significant sections of the 'old' road. It's surprising how many of
these orphaned bits of the old A30 there are in Cornwall.
The trip from Land's End to the county border (Dunheved Bridge),
is about 80 miles. Up to 50 miles of which can be travelled using
about 18 to 20 sections of the old A30. And I'm sorry to say that I
think they have all been bypassed in my lifetime!
The autumn of 1991 saw the completion of a six mile section of
dual-carriageway running from Plusha to Bolventor. It bypassed Five
Lanes, Trewint, and Bolventor, each of which were previously
bottlenecks.
Bolventor is the home of the famous Jamaica Inn.

The old section of road through Bolventor is less than a mile
long, and there is now very little through traffic.
Although the cache is PHYSICALLY
accessible from the A30 dual-carriageway, please access it from the
OLD road - this is after all in the 'spirit' of the cache series.
In any case, it is an offence to stop on the dual-carriageway, and
it's dangerous, so please don't do it.
The cache is located on what is now effectively a dead spur that
only provides access to nearby farm land. It's a real
cache-n-dash.
You're looking for a 35mm film canister that is hidden in plain
sight - well sort of in plain sight.
Obviously, there's no room for TBs.
