The A30 is the backbone of Cornwall. Over the years, road
'improvement' schemes have altered its course, bypassing
significant sections of the 'old' road. It's surprising how many of
these orphaned bits of the old A30 there are in Cornwall.
The trip from Land's End to the county border (Dunheved Bridge),
is about 80 miles. Up to 50 miles of which can be travelled using
about 18 to 20 sections of the old A30. And I'm sorry to say that I
think they have all been bypassed in my lifetime!
The autumn of 1991 saw the completion of a six mile section of
dual-carriageway running from Plusha to Bolventor. It bypassed Five
Lanes, Trewint, and Bolventor, each of which were previously
bottlenecks.
This section of road runs through Trewint and Five Lanes.
Trewint now resides on a spur with no direct access to the A30.

There was actually a minor bypass of Five Lanes that was
completed many years ago. Meaning that the current A30 bypasses the
bypass!

The cache is located close to the centre of Five Lanes, so
although it's a quiet place you may encounter some muggle
activity.
You're looking for a 35mm film canister that is hidden in plain
sight. Well sort of in plain sight - It's inside a much larger
'holder' that is in plain sight! You'll find it at eye level, and
reaching it may be a little bit of a stretch if you're vertically
challenged. There is however a handy slab of granite that might
provide a boost if you need it.
It's a cache-n-dash.
It should be easy to find if you use the hints. If you need it,
here is a

(275k).
Obviously, there's NO room for TBs.
Please ensure that you replace the lid on
the film canister properly, WITHOUT THE LOG
STICKING OUT.
Make sure that the film canister is
SECURED IN THE DISGUISED 'HOLDER'.
And replace the whole lot in such a way
that IT WILL NOT FILL UP WITH RAIN WATER, and WILL
NOT ROLL OUT ON TO THE ROAD.
Yes I know this is all common sense stuff,
but unfortunately experience has shown that it's necessary to point
out the blindingly obvious!!
