Brua ble bygd i 1927 og var i bruk til opp mot 1960 årene da den ble erstattet av en betongbru som skjulte den gamle brua. Sommeren 2003 ble denne brua revet etter omlegging av trafikken i området, slik at byggverket igjen kan beskues i all sin prakt.


This bridge was constructed in 1927 and formed a part of E6, the main road through this part of Norway. It was replaced in the 1960's by a concrete bridge that covered the old bridge. The concrete bridge was removed in the summer of 2003 after the road once again had been reengineered introducing yet another bridge. The old stone bridge can once again be viewed in all it's splendour.
