Returning home this morning I checked out the date - April Fools Day!! what a good day to hide a cache!!
Billabong Park is a pleasant spot for a picnic, cool off in the billabong (if you don't mind water lice!)- yeah I have experienced the coolness of this watery hole with geokids many years ago! The old rope which was hung from a tree and was used by many children (and adults) over the years to launch themselves into the billabong has now gone.
The park itself is well maintained, has BBQ facilities, tap, childrens playground equipment - for littlies and bigger kids, covered table and seating, park benches, BMX track and cool shady trees to sit under and enjoy the surroundings.
There is a large shopping complex close by, but the cache location is safe.
