Cricket Creek FP is part of the Salt Creek Greenway (SCG) and
was developed to mitigate flooding from the Salt Creek. Three small
ponds (used during overflows of the Salt Creek); allow fishing,
model boating, picnicking and a walking/cycling trail which makes
this a nice area for the surrounding residential community to
enjoy! I have found it a surprisingly quiet walk around the crushed
limestone, 3 mile trail, considering its proximity to Rte. 83.
Construction along the Salt Creek Greenway Trail is nearly
finished! The underpass at North Ave. is done and an expansive
bridge crossing Salt Creek from the west side onto the Cricket
Creek Trail is also finished! The Salt Creek Trail hooks up to The
Great Western Trail, The Prairie Path and other community
trails.
