Geocache Description:

pa·se·o [pah-sey-oh] : 1) a slow, idle, or leisurely walk or stroll. 2) a public place or path designed for walking; promenade. (from Dictionary.com)

This cache is located on the Tridge. It is a nano and it will take a lot of stealth to retrieve. This is why the difficulty is a 2. Please be careful, I don't want this to end up in the river (it shouldn't, but you never know).

In downtown Midland, the Chippewa and the Tittabawassee Rivers meet. This area has been referred to as "The Forks" for centuries. The meeting rivers have been a major part of history. There have been Native American settlements along these banks (before the fur trade). In fact, artifacts have shown that human activity has been taking place here since 4,000 years ago.

The fur trade was also a prominent part of The Forks history. Starting in 1891, Charles Rodd operated a trading post, and was followed by the Williams Brothers in 1821.

Today the Tridge is a recreation area for people of all ages. There are walking trails on both sides of the Tittabawassee River, a large park for picnics and parties, a dog park, and a the Trilogy Skatepark. You can fish from the banks (though, be sure to heed the warning signs about eating them), canoe, and swim.

The area becomes rather busy in the summer as there are many events held by the city. On Thursday Nights, they have "Tunes by the Tridge," where local musicians perform. The shoot off fireworks for Independence Day, and have a Riverdays festival.
