DJ Ben Walker: Thanks to everyone who attended this event especially the caches who travelled from long-distances to get here. It was great to see so many of you. Special thanks to Dan&Bex who did a fantastic quiz and Boothy Boy who helped me put the event together. Also thanks to the small number of muggles who attended, hopefully we will have recruited a few more cachers

This Event will definitely be back next year and hopefully ran as an annual event.

Saturday 19th July 2008
12:00pm – late!

This event is for caches old and new, but most of all for our good friends the muggles! That’s right feel free to bring along as many muggle friends to this event with you. As we proudly welcome the mugles into the world of Geocaching!

The events purpose is to publicise the crazy world of Geocaching to others. Hopefully there will be plenty of experienced members there to talk the muggles
through what Geocaching is all about.

The venue: The Rose and Crown, Cop Hill, Slaithwaite.

Cop Hill, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD7 5X

You can gain easy access to the venue from the M62 or from Manchester Road

The Rose and Crown is a lovely traditional country pub serving a range of real ales, home cooked food and spectacular scenic views over Colne Valley. There is even free WiFi access if you wish to log you days cache findings.

The pub welcomes families there is a children's menu. If you fancy a day's caching prior to the event, there are numerous caches in the local area. You never know, there maybe even some published on the day ;-)

As well as cache-chat, real ale and fine food I will be hosting a family pub quiz and there will also be a raffle with top prizes, raising money for 4th Golcar Scout Group.

4.00pm Continue drinking in the bar/beer garden

As far as I am aware this is the first events cache ever to be held in Huddersfield! So come along show your support and help make this a memorable event.

Due to the large numbers of mugles attending this event. I have prepared a short PowerPoint Presentation on Geocaching. This is a basic introduction and will be ideal for new cachers in the local area.
