Geocache Description:

The cache is located at the complex of the new Library and Tourist Information Center (TIC) Building. It should not be hard for the tourist new in town or a local cacher.

Permission for this cache was granted by the building manager, Steve. Thank him if you see him.

You might want to check out the Info Center as they have a great deal of local information on attractions and museums in the area.

Bill will be glad to help you and show you all the historic information nicely done on the walls to include the Pony Express route with important dates and names of all the riders in it's brief life. How many riders were there?

Also included inside are other painting and maps on the walls to show the city as well as historic people that played a part in the development of the city from a fur trading post to the fourth leading industrial city at one point in the early development of these United States and through its decline to its latest developments today. Chairs are even decorated with important figures from the past including Outlaw Jesse James. What two important things in St Joseph history happened on the same month and day? (different years)

Yes siree folks, Bill has the info you want. He can tell you about geocaching in the area too since there are caches at some of the local museums like "GLORE-ious" cache at the Glore Psychiatric Museum, "Founding Father" at Robidoux Row Museum, "Five Alarm Fire" at the Fire Museum, and "INSPIRE-ing cache at the Twin Spires Museum and Church. Heck, he might even be able to give you a map of the caches available in St Joseph! (or maybe not). At the main downtown Tourist info center located in the Convention and Visitors new Building is the "Pony Express Route" Gadget cache which is right across the street from the huge Pony Express Statue.

This small cache holds logbook, pencil, and normal small trade items. A Virginia state quarter is available for the FTF. Please put the retainer clip back on the cache as it was so as to keep it shut. Stealth may be required more during busier times of the day/season. ENJOY!
