Of Laborers and Kings Multi-Cache
GeeOJulie: I hate to do it, but I'm going to have to archive this one. The muggles were not friendly to it. Will try to get a muggle-proof cache into this cemetery soon. Thanks for everyone who visited.

This multi-cache is placed as a celebration of my 600th find and 10th hide. It's a cammoed peanut butter jar tucked in a very interesting and often overlooked cemetery in Cleveland. All of the stages take place within the grounds of Woodland Cemetery. Please observe all cemetery rules (hours are Dawn to Dusk) and be respectful of your surroundings and the residents.
Woodland Cemetery was established in 1849 after Erie Cemetery was filled up by a cholera epidemic. In the 1980's there was a plan to move the cemetery (and all 87,000+ graves) to make room for a new housing project. But these plans were scrapped and this diamond-in-the-rough is available for all of us to visit. There are several very interesting monuments and mausoleums, as well as a very large military section. There is plenty to learn at this cemetery.
Of Laborers...
The above coords will take you to Stage 1: The grave of John Green. He was Cleveland's first African American lawyer. As a member of the Ohio House of Representatives he sponsored a bill that established the first Labor Day in Ohio, which was soon adopted by other states and eventually by the federal government. If you have a day off on the first Monday in September, thank Mr. Green.
Also note his wife, Annie's, year of birth to help you get to the final stage: 18C8 C=______
A short walk will take you to Stage 2.

And Kings...
These coords will bring you to the grave of Amialea and John Eli. According to their shared gravestone, she is the "Queen of Gypsy" and he is the "King of Gypsy." Although this is disputed by the grave about 50 feet to the west of Lizzie Ely, which states that she is the "True Queen of the Gypsies." What a rivalry that must have been!
On John and Amialea Eli's stone, you will get the info you need to help you get to the final stage.
Amialea died on August 29, 19B4. B=______
John died on May 12, 19DA. D=_____ A=_______
Now you are ready to head to the final stage. It is within walking distance or you can hop in your car and drive on the paved and gravel roads.

First to Find prize is $5.00.
If you have time, be sure to check out the interesting features of this cemetery. The info I got came from "Cleveland Cemeteries" by Vicki Blum Vigil and tells even more stories about this fascinating place and its residents.
