University Park Mystery Cache

This is a small cache on the main campus area of Nottingham University.
Attention: The given coordinates refer to a nearby parking space, not to the cache location!
The final coordinates are obtained by solving a simple quiz.

University Park Campus is one of the largest university campuses in the UK and a beautiful place to go for a walk. A central boating lake is surrounded by a parkway inhabited by numerous squirrels and birds. In the last years the university won several awards for the landscape gardening.
The given coordinates will lead you to a parking space close to the Cripps Medical Centre and within walking distance of the cache location. In order to obtain the cache coordinates you need to solve a simple picture puzzle:

In the two pictures below only one symbol appears twice in the same form and the same orientation on both pictures. If you have found this symbol, you need to determine the following numbers:

A = the position of the first letter of the symbol's name in the alphabet divided by 2
B = the position of the second letter of the symbol's name in the alphabet minus 1

Replace A and B by the corresponding numbers to obtain the complete coordinates:

N 52°56.A06 W 001°11.BA2

Update: The new cache location is very close to the old one but harder to find and to reach - please note the updated difficulty and terrain rating. It is not recommended for children (unless you search together with an adult)! Good luck and enjoy a relaxing walk through the park!
