Geocache Description:

This is a letterbox Hybrid located within the Pine River Nature Center. Sarah lives on the property of the Pine River Nature Center near Port Huron. One of St. Clair County's best kept secrets.

Sarah lives happily with her Mother Carrie in a small area of the Nature Center and normally does not wander far from her home. But - Sarah is a sleep walker and sometimes wakens far from home in unfamiliar areas of the Nature Center. On this day Sarah has wakened at the intersection of two trails.

Help Sarah find her way home by following her home seeking adventure. You will need a GPSr and a compass. When you find the cache you can use the stamp provided.

After Sarah wakes up in unfamiliar territory she first travels on a magnetic heading of 350 degrees for 165 feet. Because she is lost, Sarah almost always stays on the trails. At this point Sarah sees a trail leading to the right. She decides not to take it. She travels another 98 feet to where the trail forks. She takes the left fork and hustles up the incline. The pine needles feel cool on her feet. 200 feet further the trail forks again. Sarah does not take the fork with the white trees growing along it. The many trail options have Sarah confused and befuddled. Continuing up the incline she comes to another fork and sees a potential danger ahead. She rests for awhile on a bench and then returns to the fork taking the left branch.

The trail is outlined by small timbers and highland forest. She continues down this trail for .18 miles and enters a large field. Sarah continues on the trail past the bird houses and a row of pine trees on her right. Ater .13 miles she sees evidence of bipedal animals.

Sarah stands at the base of an old tree that is the residence of a number of flying mammals. Their silhouettes may be seen on the exterior of their abode. She now travels 263 feet on a heading of 332 degrees magnetic. At this location there is a clue hidden with the latitude and longitude of Sarah's home. Find Sarah's home and take her back to her family.

Remember to stay on the trails until you are very near to Sarah's home. Her home is a short distance from the trail in a dry and comfortable old ammo box.

April 20th. Congratulations on the great caching team from Sarnia named Cache Hawks for finding our cache. We were getting worried.
