Getting accurate coordinates is one of the most important elements of successful and enjoyable geocaching. Some cachers are very precise at getting good numbers, others not so much. I can always count on a hide by The Alleghenian to be exactly where he says it will be and when he finds one of my caches, he is sure to keep me honest.
About six months ago, just after I intalled the recommended software upgrade on my GPS, I could no longer rely on it to give me good readings. It was completely unpredictable except that it was almost always 35-40 feet off. I had to throw myself on the mercy of my friends. I had to ask for help. I had to rely on the kindness of strangers. After much dialogue with manufacturer, this week I think my unit is finally fixed.
This cache is dedicated to The Alleghenian, his quality hides, his milestone finds and the accuracy of his numbers. I hope my coords are right on. If not, I'm sure he'll let me know
