Nelson Cache In Trash Out Event Cache.
I attended one of these when I was a newb geocacher in Christchurch. I thought it was pretty kool. The idea is to get all the local cachers and their mates and anyone else that can be dragged along to descend on an area and remove the trash. Then have a BBQ and chat.
I have liased with the council and they have requested that we clean up the airport perimeter. The council will reimburse the cost of cheap rubbish bags and will accept the rubbish at the tip for no dumping fee. I suggest a group heading off in one direction could leave at 12 noon and another group could leave at 1pm and head round the other way. We could then meet for a BBQ and a chat from 3pm. It takes about an hour to walk round the perimeter.
Another cacher is supplying a BBQ. Please BYO food, drink etc...
It would be nice to get an idea of who might be attending if you could please indicate. And do drag along all the helpers you can lay your hands on. I walk round the perimeter regularly and its quite a project to tidy it up!
Usefull tools:
A stick with a pointed end and gloves.
See you on the 19th. Oh, since publishing our intention to conduct a CITO on the gps.org.nz forums, several other centres have voiced an interest and at least one other CITO has been published.
