Located in the Valley of Silence, This cache requires some hill climbing. Be prepared to breathe heavily!! In warm weather, there may be Poison Ivy, so be vigilant.
Park in the Soccer Field lot and walk the forest line to the left where you will find the trail head adjacent to the cemetery.
DO NOT try and find it by parking on Cliff Ave. You will be crossing private property.
While you are here, you can find the other cache hidden in this valley.
The Valley of Silence is a natural area which belongs to the St. Scholastica Monastery. On your hike in you will pass various old structures made out of stone: Fireplaces, shrines, and even an old rock garden with a pool and bridge. Rumor has it that the Sisters of old created this as a nature getaway.
There are two ways to get to this cache. The shorter way is to take the path to Lowell (signed); take a left at the next obvious path. They are well traveled in warm months, even in the winter. The longer, and more scenic way, is to follow the trail to the outcropping and go left, following the trail down to the bottom of the valley, and hang a right. This trail follows the valley floor until it connects with the trail that goes up the hill you need to go. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, as these trails can get muddy and slippery. Same goes for winter travel.
Cache is a pint size plastic container containing various odds and ends. I may end up upgrading the container to something larger in the future.

Enjoy this beautiful area. You may be fortunate enough to hear ship horns; they resonate well in the valley.
