Geocache Description:

Cape Hado is a small cape which projects into Higashi-matsuura peninsula into the Genkai Sea. One of Japanese beach hundred pieces.

Aside from offering beautiful scenery, the cape is also a resort area where hiking, fishing, camping, swimming and other activities can be enjoyed in its surrounding. The cape features a full range of activities and facilities such as a labyrinth, a horse carriage tour, tennis courts. This is a place where you wil l never run out of amusement activities. You should not miss the white Submarine Observatory which sticks out from the water. School of fish and sea vegetation can be seen through the 24 windows of the Submarine Observatory, giving you an enjoyable view of underwater life. The area is a region where hot and cold sea currents meet thereby affording you an opportunity to closely observe tropical fish like Pomacentrus colestis, Microcanthus strigatus and such rare seaweed as Eisenia bicyclis (edible seaweed) and Sargassum fulvellum (a sargasso weed). From the deck of the observatory tower, you can see clear across to the remote islands of the Genkai Sea. Finally, one should not forget the Cape Hado speciality of "turbot (Turbot cornutus) cooked in its own shell". Female sea divers will prepare this delicious dish for you with freshly caught turbot.

There are public bus to go to Cape Hado from Karatsu Oteguchi Bus terminal.

There are 2 parking area. One is free of charge and the other one cost 300 yen to drive into the cape and approach to the cache. Although, it is fine to park at the free parking lot to walk to find the cache.
