Geocache Description:

A wonderful view of the valley can be seen from the cache site. Please do not park here as you will cause a problem. Parking is just a few feet from here. An area of some 180 acres of woodland, meadows and wetland, dedicated for the quiet enjoyment of the countryside by the public, the Severn Valley Country Park spans both sides of the River Severn between the villages of Highley and Alveley. The area was once the site of the Highley and Alveley Collieries which ceased production in 1969 after almost a hundred years of mining. In the late 1980s the area was reclaimed to create the country park. As well as reclaimed areas the park has large areas of ancient woodland and unimproved meadows, and the park attracts an increasing variety of wildlife.

THANKS TO Brakspear22 FOR MOVING THE CACHE AWAY FROM THE WASPS NEST. FINDERS PLEASE TAKE CARE
