Looking for a great place to stay while visiting Anchorage?
You're invited to stay with us at the Oceanview Travel Bug Bed and
Breakfast. Enjoy amazing views of the inlet and mountains, watch
moose wander through the local woods, all the while having easy
access to trails, playgrounds, and scenic drives. Looking for
something to do during your stay? Here are some of our favorite
excursions. Feel free to ask your host for more information.

Biking from Bird Point to Girdwood
The paved trail between Bird Point and Girdwood makes for a
great afternoon of biking. We start at the Bird Point Trailhead and
Viewpoint, ride south to Girdwood where we stop for ice cream
before riding back to our starting point. There are a number of
caches hidden along this trail, which make for a great excuse to
stop and enjoy the view (and rest, especially if you're pulling
small children behind you).

Portage Valley
A great day trip from Anchorage is a drive south to Portage
Valley on a nice day. The
visitor center is full of information on the area. The trail up
to Byron Glacier is a nice walk and easy enough for small
children.

Geocaching in Kincaid Park
Enjoying a summer hike in Kincaid Park, only a few short miles
away. Kincaid is a great park for geocaching, biking, playing
frisbee golf, as well as sledding and skiing in the
winter. |
Hiking in Chugach State Park
Enjoy a hike in
Chugach
State Park. There are a wide variety of trails for hiking and
biking making it easy to get out of the city and enjoy quiet time
in the wilderness. Just be sure to take your map and your GPS!

Hiking along the ridgeline towards O'Malley Peak after visiting

Your stay at the Oceanview Bed and Breakfast is complimentary as
long as a few rules are observed. Please make sure you understand
how to register travel bugs into and out of a cache before taking
them. This Bed and Breakfast is a great place for travel bugs to
begin their Alaskan Adventure. Take care during your visit so all
guests, after a short stay at our B&B, are able to continue on
their journey.
Oceanview Bed and Breakfast Policies and Procedures:
- Please leave at least one Travel Bug in the cache at all
times.
- Please trade only Travel Bugs (or other hitchhikers, like
geocoins), no other trade items please.
- If you are not moving Travel Bugs, please sign the log with a
TNLN.
- If at all possible, please note in the log the names of the Bugs
you took and the Bugs you left.
- When you drop a Bug, please list his goal if you know it.
- All are welcome to revisit this cache as often as you like. After
the first visit, please log in with a "note" instead of a "found
it".
