Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 7th in the “Side Bet” series #1, “Side Bet on #4”.

372 yards from the white tees, this one looks easy until you see all of that water protecting the entire left side all the way up to the green. A hook here (unless you’re a lefty!) and you’re wet. You’ll have to get up a bit higher than GZ to watch.

As the first and only Regular size cache in the series, a 30 cal ammo can, this one is loaded up from the start. A 20 movie DVD pack of golden oldies, numerous Hot Wheels cars, one Lightening McQueen for the early bird of the younger set, a “squishy” dolphin and whale, and two geocoins: one of them a virgin (unregistered) 2008 Colorado geocoin for the FTF prize, and the other a NW Pennsylvania Geocachers coin.

Please use good sense when retrieving this one, especially with little ones in tow. Although the cache itself is sufficiently far from the road to pose no hazard at all, parking on the shoulder close to GZ is sometimes not very safe, and while I did just that when placing this cache, and also when I maintain it, it is not recommended. Consider using the area near N40º12.197 W105º04.016, but keep out of the way of potential driveway traffic. Although it looks like a private residence, this is City of Longmont property used as the HQ for course maintenance, and so long as you don’t get in the way of operations, they shouldn’t bother you there, especially during off hours.

There’s no need to wander off onto the golf course proper to retrieve this or any of the other Side Bet series caches.
