Geocache Description:


This cache is located on the DAN River in NC. There are some challenges and might be hard for some!! You need a small boat (canoe or kayak) and no fear of heights!! While you’re finding the cache, take in the beauty of the river and the rock wall. There is an awesome rope swing near cords!! This CAN be a Family event but would not recommend bringing the little ones to the cache. Tough short hike. !!!!!!!!!!BYOP!!!!!!!!!!

INFORMATION AND DIRECTIONS
Trip is 5.5 miles from where NC Highways 268 and 89 meet. Put in at bridge, park on side of the road. OR you can go to Hart’s Access, (which is a 13 mile run) put in point is located river left, 1.9 miles east of the intersection of NC Highways 704 and 89. TAKE OUT POINT From Danbury, NC, travel 2.75 miles northwest on NC Highway 89, turn left on Flinchum Road (unpaved). Follow Flinchum Road approximately 0.35 miles to the ample parking area and access.

THE NAME FOR THE CACHE
I named this cache in honor of my friend COOPA!!! Early this spring we got a lot of rain, and we decided to go kayaking down the glorious DAN RIVER!! To make a long story short, he capsized into 40-43 degree water!!! He lost his paddle, shoes, pants, and his ability to talk and breathe!!!!!! It was 50 degrees that day !! Needless to say we were all cold and wet just not as much as him!! LOL WWWOOOOOOO!!
