When I saw this spot, I went in search of some long time resident
muggles who told me the rest of the story. When I explained my idea
they practically begged me to put a cache here.
According to the locals, this arrangement was created by the
Clinton Chamber of Commerce about 10 years ago to help give people
a reason to stop in this little Gold Rush Town. The Chamber also
created the very useful free washrooms and picnic spot across the
Hwy/Main Street from this location. The Chamber has since folded,
the location is not really well cared for anymore, but it is still
interesting.
For a real giggle and great photo opps, be sure to go about 60 m
East across the Hwy/Main Street (toward the Chinese Restaurant) to
a small park/plaza with two heavy picnic tables. There are also
some interesting shops around if you happen to be here during
business hours.
For once don't worry about the muggles because they will be very
happy you are caching here. Now go find and sign the log
already!
