Scenic 7 Iron Springs Traditional Cache
QuartzCachers: I hate it, but these have to go. Too close to the old homestead.

A micro hidden in Iron Springs campground.
This is another in the Scenic 7 series, started by Hot Rod on Foot and Bike. This is a small tube, wrapped in camo tape. It is hidden completely from view. Without the clue, this would be a three star difficulty, but with the clue, I rated it a one and a half.
This campground was built in the thirties by the CCC. It is now maintained by the Ouachita National Forest. It has been the site of many family gatherings, picnics, and swimming parties. The small dam is really cool to look at, and provides a small swimming hole for people to enjoy. It used to be overrun back in the day, but with the introduction of several local "cement ponds", the use gradually declined. There is still a loyal contingent who will get in the water here, and the campground can be very busy at times. The spot where the cache is hidden is sometimes occupied by picnic muggles, but most of the time, it will be able to be gotten. Stop and cool your toes a while, have a picnic, and look around. Enjoy!
