Many years ago we used to camp at Ivy Farm. One of our favourite hikes was up the footpath near Curtis's garage to Northrepps then back along the lane past the radio station to the campsite. Memory Lane caches are set along this route with a Guiding skill or two thrown in for good measure.
A 2 stage cache set to test your Guiding /Scouting skills.
You will require special (not specialist) equipment to complete this cache so read this first!!
The equipment you require is one piece of string 290 inches long and another piece
224 inches long. You will be required to tie a clove hitch using one end of each piece.
At the above co-ords you will find some trees, two of which have brass hooks near
the base (see photographs). As you stand facing the hooks you will need to attach the
longer string, using a clove hitch, to the hook on the right and the shorter string to the
one on the left.Take up the slack and bring the strings together so the loose ends meet.
Below this point, providing the strings are the correct length and there is no slack, you
should find the micro cache
Simply pull the metal ring to expose the micro
Inside you will find the co-ords for the main cache.
Please replace the micro as you found it and make sure the micro blends in with its surrounding when you leave and don't
forget to remove your string - which should be easy if you've tied the correct knot!!
