Westgate on sea is situated between St Mildreds Bay and Birchington, it inherited its name from the Westgate Manor which was located in the area in the Medieval times.
Before the 1860's Westgate consisted of only a farm and a few cottages, by the late 1860's it was developed into a seaside resort for the middle classes. It was once renowned for being the seaplane base of the Royal Navy Air Service, which defended the Thames Estuary's costal towns during WW1.
Especially beautiful at dusk as the sunsets over the bay. (Any photo's would be gratefully received!) There is a cafe located near by on the promenade. {open 9-6/7ish} For those who fancy a walk it takes roughly 20mins to walk round to St Mildreds Bay where there is another cafe and maybe more treasures!
Best caching times is early morning, evenings and during school hours. It can get busy in the summer months with muggles so pick your time wisely.
Cache is a small tupperware box. I have included a number of items that relate to my spirtual side and hope that along with the inspiring view you to will feel better after visiting this cache.
Cache contents originally included: All seeing Notebook and Pen, Calling card, Rune stone and info card, Soothe aches and Pains card, A Budda, Butterfly Pendent, Toy baby Bratz bottle, A Pink Candle (for love), A book of Hugs, A white feather, Haematite and Amythest Gem stone.
