Geocache Description:

Cynophobia is not a good affliction to have in my line of work.  Back when I first started working in this neighborhood it wasn't such a problem. There were just a few homes around and the infrequent person out walking their dog, but times have changed now.  There are apartment buildings, townhouses, and a whole new plat of new home construction located right in the immediate area that I work in.  Professionals out for their morning jog, parents walking kids to the bus stop, stay-at-home moms out for a early afternoon stroll to the nearby stores, and the after-dinner walk with couples out to enjoy a nice evening before the sun sets.  All of them bring their Fido along on their excursions and I can do nothing but sit and suffer in silence as they walk past me, stop to sniff me, or worse.  I just pray that they keep right on going.

After you find the cache that I hide maybe you’ll think a little more about your surroundings and those you pass if you have a canine of your own and take it for walks.  Please people, Cynophobia is a serious condition, and not all of us can do anything about it.

Thank you for listening.

Of course I was working when this cache published, but it appeared just late enough that I might be able to be the first to try for it, and it was almost on the way home, if I took that route that goes a mile out of the way It was still unclaimed when I was done at work so I decided to go for it. On the way to the cache it started sleeting pretty hard, and as I got out of the truck and started to walk to ground zero I stepped in an ice cold puddle of slush up to my ankle. I just can't express how very much I have missed all these little joys of caching! Then I spotted who had written the story, and although I love my dogs more than anything I had to re-think my initial judgments and feel a little sympathy for the poor guy. After a few minute longer than it should have taken I came up with the container and signed the clean log as FTF at 12:05 am! I scampered back to my truck soaked to the skin and freezing my tooshie off and missing a glove, but with the biggest smile I've had on my face in a long time. Thanks very much for the cache, oh and if anybody finds a black glove....
