Cynophobia is not a
good affliction to have in my line of work. Back when
I first started working in this neighborhood it wasn't such a
problem. There were just a few homes around and the infrequent
person out walking their dog, but times have changed now.
There are apartment buildings, townhouses, and a
whole new plat of new home construction located right in the
immediate area that I work in. Professionals out
for their morning jog, parents walking kids to the bus stop,
stay-at-home moms out for a early afternoon stroll to the nearby
stores, and the after-dinner walk with couples
out to enjoy a nice evening before the sun sets.
All of them bring their Fido along on their excursions and I can do
nothing but sit and suffer in silence as they walk past me, stop to
sniff me, or worse.
I just pray that they keep right on going.
After you find the cache that I hide maybe
you’ll think a little more about your surroundings and those
you pass if you have a canine of your own and take it for
walks. Please people, Cynophobia is a serious
condition, and not all of us can do anything about
it.
Thank you for listening.
