In Machimoodus State Park, at the Upper Vista Trail scenic overlook.
Machimoodus is the Indian word for the famous "Moodus Noises", strange audible rumblings that are seismic in origin and that figure prominently in Native American lore. The noises, described as similar to distant thunder or cannon fire, were likely caused by earthquakes otherwise too small to notice.
Machimoodus State Park is located on Rt. 151 in Moodus. There are several caches located in the park along a 2.25 mile loop trail.
You are looking for a camoed matchstick holder hidden near the beautiful upper scenic overlook of the Salmon and Connecticut Rivers. Please BYOP (Bring Your Own Pen). There is a picnic table and a bench there. Why not stay a while and enjoy the view?
